Yasushi Kondo is a professor at Faculty of Political Science and Economics, Waseda University. He received his BA and MA in Economics from Waseda University and PhD in Economics from University of Tsukuba. Prior to joining Waseda, he was an associate professor at Faculty of Economics, Toyama University. He was also a visiting professor at Industrial Ecology Programme, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and a visiting scientist at Institute of Environmental Sciences (CML), Leiden University. His research interest includes quantitative approaches to material cycles and waste management. He has served on international academic journals: Journal of Material Cycles and Waste Management as an associate editor, and Resources, Conservation & Recycling and Journal of Economic Structures as an editorial board member. He was awarded the ILCAJ Outstanding Achievement Award from the Institute of Life Cycle Assessment, Japan (ILCAJ) in 2019.
